Keni's Musical Healing

They say Music is therapeutic. Each raga has a special scale and some people have used it to cure certain ailments, aches and pains. Well, but have you heard of a doctor whose clinic looks more like an abode of peace and has gentle classical music playing in the background even when he’s treating his patients?

Several years ago,I found myself sitting in his clinic, which was dimly lit and had the gentle sounds of the santoor playing on his tape deck. His face glowed and he seemed totally at peace with himself and his patients too. He first asked me to place both my hands on the desk ,after which he held both my thumbs and closed his eyes and meditated.i was thinking to myself, what kind of treatment is this?well, before I could think of anything more,he began scribbling down something on a piece of paper.
After he opened his eyes,he told me exactly what was wrong with my bodyi was suffereing from certain allergies and he told me what the reason was and also told me a lot more things which only a doctor who knew my case history would.

This was Dr Ramakant Keni.  A highly qualified Physician and a consulting geriatrician and gerontologist at the Bombay Hospital.he had successfully treated more than 14,000 cases and a substantial part of which were “in absentia”, patients-those residing in different countries like USA,Nigeria,Hongkong,UAE,Sri Lanka, etc.
Now this was extremely unusual. Not just the element of Psychic Healing but how he was treating patients who were not even present in front of him,but were in far of countires.

Dr Keni’s love for music was evident from the fact that there were very few moments when you would not hear music from his clinic and he often had certain songs on repeat.
His was the only clinic and still is in Bombay hospital which plays music and is the only department of Psychic healing.well, after meeting him I was curious to know more as this was the first time I met someone who seemed to be like a father figure but also had a fine balance of science-spirituality and music.

The music he used definitely made his patients calm but there was more to it. There was a spiritual Guide.a guide who was on the other side and found his instrument or medium in the form ofDr Keni on this side. More often than not,the manner of help he received was immeasurable. In today’s time and age,we are so caught up with our busy schedules that we have forgotten the divine laws. There are so many powerful mantra’s when chanted with correct Sanskrit pronounciation and repeated for a few 1,000 times can heal and have the desired effect on us.

People like Dr Keni are rare and whats amazing is that even at the age of 87 this man is still practicing and continues to be assisted by his spiritual guide.Psychic healing and music go hand in hand and its amazing that India has such a treasure of art forms and musical healers.
